PROJECT SUMMARY

WILSON COUNTY, NC LANDFILL

Methane Credit secured the gas rights to the Wilson County Landfill in a negotiated contract with Wilson County in 2002.  The landfill received 2 million tons of MSW and closed in 2002.  No LFG collection system exists.

Methane Credit projects that up to 400 scfm of methane will be recoverable from the landfil in 2006.  This creates the ability to supply more than 200,000 DT of thermal energy per year.  Because the installation will represent a voluntary abatement action, over 80,000 tonnes per year of marketable carbon credits can also be generated.
